Tonight’s FanDuel NBA DFS picks: Lineup advice, sleepers for Monday, Dec. 3

first_imgIn what should be a high-scoring NBA DFS slate, there are several bottom-feeder matchups worth honing in on to round out your FanDuel cash game lineups. It’s important to capitalize when struggling, defense-deprived teams square off, and we’ll help you pinpoint daily fantasy basketball sleeper targets in two of those games Monday night.Injury concerns include Wizards small forward Otto Porter and Thunder shooting guard Terrance Ferguson. We’ll update whether they will go as soon as the news comes out. STUD TO STICK WITH — PF Montrezl Harrell, Clippers @ Pelicans ($8,300). Either game-stacked with Anthony Davis or played on his own tonight, Harrell is a cash game godsend if you’ve been burned by an upper-level guy over the past few days. As the heart of Los Angeles’ ferocious bench unit, Harrell has been incredibly consistent lately, delivering at least 35 FD points in seven straight games. With the possibility he’ll go for much more considering the Pelicans allow the eighth-most FD points against to power forwards, lock him into your lineups.STAR TO AVOID — PG Kyle Lowry, Raptors vs. Nuggets ($8,100). Not only did Lowry miss Saturday’s game due to back soreness, setting up a potential minutes limit if the Raptors pull away late against the Nuggets, but he also goes up against the top defense vs. point guards this year. We prefer the pivot to Chris Paul ($8,200) in this price range.TAKE A CHANCE ON ME — SG Alec Burks, Cavaliers @ Nets ($4,000). For his career, Burks averages about 28 FD points per 36 minutes, but because of injuries and a generally decent Utah team, he’s rarely had that kind of playing time. In Cleveland, though, he could see the most minutes he’s gotten in years and potentially the highest usage rate of his career. If you’re hunting for a low-cost shooting guard to round out your lineup, buying low on Burks is a decent bet. Update: Porter will play and is in the Wizards starting lineup.MORE: SN DFS | Player UpdatesOnly Hawks-Warriors is projected to be a blowout, and four of the seven games have point spreads of three points or fewer. Cavaliers-Nets and Wizards-Knicks, meanwhile, should be offense-centric and could also feature a healthy dose of turnovers. As part of our multi-step lineup approach, we used Fantasy Alarm’s premium features to analyze points allowed by position and projected point values. Below are the conclusions of that research.Tonight’s FanDuel NBA DFS picks: Lineup advice, sleepers for Monday, Dec. 3FAVORITE VALUE — PG Emmanuel Mudiay, Knicks vs. Wizards ($5,000). Mudiay was already in consideration in GPP formats before fellow Knicks point guard Trey Burke suffered an injury. With Burke now out, there’s less concern for Mudiay’s role unexpectedly fluctuating, meaning he’s viable in all NBA DFS formats at this point. He’s coming off a 42.1-point game on FanDuel, and he could come close to replicating that effort against the Wizards in a potential bucket fest.last_img read more

Team USA shows off its depth in 111-74 win over Argentina

first_img“There’s a willingness on these guys to work on everything we need to work,” Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “They’ve been outstanding. We have good talent and good athleticism.”Carmelo Anthony (17 points) and DeMarcus Cousins (14, 15 rebounds) also cracked double figures. Team USA led by as many as 41 points. It also posted 42 points in the paint, converted on 26 second-chance points and outrebounded Argentina, 53-30.“They’re okay doing all the dirty work,” Krzyzewski said, referring to Cousins and Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. “The rest of the guys love that.” First things first, though. Team USA enters Sunday’s exhibition against China at Staples Center still with areas to sharpen. Team USA overcame a sluggish start where it went only 37.5 percent from the field in the first quarter, something Krzyzewski attributed to poor ball movement. The inaccurate contributors included starting shooting guard Klay Thompson (nine points on 3-of-11 shooting), reserve forward Draymond Green (three points on a 1-of-6 clip) and reserve forward Jimmy Butler (two points on 1 of 6 from the field), who Krzyzewski said suffered a minor injury to one of his ankles. Some sloppy play took place, such as Durant being called on one play for traveling and being pick pocketed by Carlos Delfino on another. Team USA often looked superior simply because Argentina shot only 38.9 percent from the field, a staple Krzyzewski believes could lead to the U.S. fielding its best defensive team ever. LAS VEGAS >> The outcome seemed inevitable when it took only 22 seconds of play for Kevin Durant to force a turnover and finish with a two-handed dunk. Nearly two hours later, the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team coasted to a 111-74 victory over Argentina in their exhibition opener on Friday at T-Mobile Arena. Durant provided a team-leading 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while Paul George provided 18 points off the bench.Kobe Bryant’s retirement provides both intrigue and uncertainty on how the Lakers rebuild without his looming shadow. Absences to LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin would likely derail franchises in Cleveland, Golden State, Oklahoma City, Houston and for the Clippers, respectively. For the U.S. men’s Olympic team, however, it appears it has put together the necessary reinforcements to secure a third consecutive gold medal. “There’s a willingness to play it,” Krzyzewski said. “The guys want to play it. It’s a matter of us getting down to understanding our coverages.”This also marked the first game for Thompson and Thompson to understand playing together with Durant. Only three weeks ago, Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors via free agency. The concepts Team USA preaches arguably applies to Golden State since both teams feature a stacked roster that needs to thrive on ball movement and team work to maximize its talent.“I didn’t really notice,” Durant said. “I was just lost in the game and trying to play the right way and worry about what Coach K wants us to do. I’m sure they felt the same way. They didn’t talk about it. We were just lost in the game just trying to play the right way.”center_img Newsroom GuidelinesNews TipsContact UsReport an Errorlast_img read more
