This posting may or may not result inthe hiring of adjuncts. Adjunct Faculty provides a quality learningexperience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct facultyreports to a dean or chair and performs instruction-related dutiesand responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with themission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationshipof the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher andfacilitator of learning.College/Department Overview:The College of Business has 76 full-time faculty and 40 part-timefaculty in 6 academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance,Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, andMarketing. The College currently offers 13 undergraduate majorsserving more than 2,500 students, and 2 graduate programs servingmore than 100 students combined. Forfurther information see our website athttp://business.uco.edu.Department Specific Essential Job Functions:University of Central Oklahoma, Dept. of Accounting, invitesapplications for adjunct positions to teach introduction toprinciples of accounting, cost, individual taxation, businessentity taxation, auditing, ethics, financial accounting and otherrelated accounting courses.A masters degree in Accounting or MBA, with a CPA and currentsenior level or higher accounting experience or a doctorate inAccounting is required. A JD with professional tax practice will beconsidered for tax positions. Teaching experience is preferred.Online teaching experience may also be preferred for certainclasses. Other specific experience in the accounting related to theteaching area may be required. Specialized certifications andlicenses are required for some classes.Note: Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions.This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants fromwhich the Department may draw as sections become open at any pointin the current academic year. Daytime availability will be givenpreference.QualificationsExperience Required:Possesses at least a master’s degree in the field specified in theposition announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairsapproval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, andorganizational skills.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Master’s degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Taxationpreferred. Other master’s degrees considered. Professionalcertification preferred. Must have either current professionalexperience or current academic research in accounting/taxation tobe considered.
